From the estimate to the day of the move everyone I spoke with or dealt with were great. Ant, Big Mike and Tikeyon worked so hard and made my move very easy. I called these Helping Hands Moving Company after a friend referred me and they gave me a quote within minutes. Not only did I get an instant quote, but they were able to send three gentlemen the very next day. Kelly, Dustin and Zarious were super friendly professional and fast. They were in and out within 3 hours and I had some large pieces that needed to go through some small doorways. They put in some hard work today. Thanks guys. I will be referring y’all to my friends

Couldn’t be happier with the 3 guys that helping hands sent out. They were fast, efficient and was able to move all of my belongings from Portsmouth to Charlottesville without any damages. Quoted for $1400-$1600 for my 4 bedroom home and the final price was $1385. Very pleased with this company and would recommend them to anyone needing an honest company.

If you're looking for a mover, big or small, you need to hire Helping Hands. They are very reasonably priced and the movers are quick and friendly. They also wrap your belongings for free. Local is the way to go!

I could not be more impressed with this company. So impressed, we hired them twice in a week. We were able to receive a quote in less than 20 minutes via Yelp. They were on time. Very efficient in working. Johnathan and Samuel were very professional and their sense of humor made the job go even faster. [Edit]: Its hard to give a truly honest review when the person is standing there while you do it and offering you $10 off to do it. But I wanted to add something because I am a "local guide" and transparency is important. Everything I said above is true. But. We decided to use a moving company because you could get 2 hours of services from groupon. We even got a discount off the groupon. We moved from a 2 bedroom 2 level apartment to a one level house. We had everything boxed. We disassembled the beds for them. So, it really shouldve only taken 2 hours. When we got our estimate the guy tells us the computer he uses to estimate these things tells him itll take 4.5 - 5.5 hours. Im not worried. The house and apartment are literally 5 minutes from each other. The guy tells us the state "requires" they charge for travel time to and from their warehouse. I think maybe the state "allows" them to charge for travel time. And at the same rate they charge to move all your stuff. So the movers get there and it's 2 of them and they are moving fast. We helped, but apparently we cant physically get on the truck, so that slows us down. Then they start wrapping every single piece of big furniture and mattress. As you can imagine, this takes A WHILE. I think they definitely added at least a half hour to their time. Probably more. Also, it took them 20 minutes to drive from the apartment to the house. We saw them close up the truck. They were backed in so it shouldnt have taken that long and I dont know why it did. So, I think this company has a great reputation and the move went well, so they get 4 stars. But I thought people should know some of the nuances they use that rack up time in case thats a motivating factor for you like it was for us.

Best pricing I could find for this area, workers were professional and their boss was a nice guy. My only complaints would be that I had a box of glasses from my kitchen marked fragile that were broken (the box was pretty beat up) and the movers definitely were not in a hurry... but $99/hour. I did also pay an additional $99 for the travel to and from my house. Didn't expect to that.. but I can't complain too much.

Matthew and his crew arrived a bit late- due to unfortunate circumstances they could not help - but he was apologetic, he had a smile on his face and he brought along extra guys to get our job taken care of. Superb customer service, excellent professional movers. Last July 3, I called three movers past 5 pm, but it was only Matthew Brown that returned my phone call and gave us the best price offer and service, specially it involves the storage of our baby grand piano, and other heavy furniture. JOB WELL DONE! The Helping Hands crew came out and got our offices moved with ease. When we closed for business on Friday, the crew packed and moved our offices to our new location.
